The term WPC stands for Wireless Planning and Coordination. It is a National Radio Regulatory Authority and a division of the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), which was founded in 1985 under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

What is WPC Certification?

WPC ETA is a radio frequency certification given by the Wireless Planning Council for commercial usage of technology. It is mandated by the WPC, which allows the marketing and sale of products such as Wi-Fi, FM Transmitters, GPS, and so on. To achieve WPC Certification in India, the Company provides WPC ETA (Equipment Technical Authorization) process that includes entire filing application with required test data, technical documentation, and fee.

Who can Apply for a WPC License?

The Wireless Planning & Coordination (WPC) Program is a nationwide initiative that coordinates all wireless systems in India, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and other wireless devices. WPC provides permits and certificates to companies that manufacture/import/distribute such devices for government and private entities.

WPC Certification is also required for importers who wish to deal directly with foreign manufacturers. Applies all the products that use unlicensed frequency-based wireless and Bluetooth, such as mobile phones, printers, scanners, speakers, hands-free sets, laptops, and so on. Those manufacturers that are already engaged in global manufacturing do not need to apply for WPC Certification because they have already gone through this process abroad.

(ii) Occupied bandwidth
